Also known as Usui reiki, it was created by Dr. Mikao Usui in the early 20th century. Reiki is a complementary or alternative health approach. Reiki does not directly cure diseases or illnesses. Instead, it is used as a way to manage symptoms and improve general wellbeing. It is believed that the practitioner is able to stimulate your body's natural healing abilities. Reiki can enhance your overall wellbeing, enhance your sleep patterns and bring on a profound sense of inner-calm, relaxation and peace.
Reiki is excellent when used as part of a treatment plan to treat depression.
During the reiki session, you will be lying down on a therapy table, blankets are available if required. Soothing and relaxing music is played in the background throughout the session and the therapist's hands are placed just above you. You may experience some tingling sensations through your body as the treatment progresses.
Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing from natural fabrics such as cotton, linen, or silk.
